Lake Titicaca

I am currently in Puno, in Southern Peru. Me, 4 other volunteers and 3 Peruvians (2 of which who work for ProWorld) left Urubamba last night for Cusco where we took an overnight bus to Puno. Puno´s main attraction is Lake Titicaca. Early this morning we got in, ate breakfast, and then went out on the lake for a boat tour. Our tour was of Uros, which is a set of 70 or so floating islands (look it up, its pretty cool). It was sooo pretty and we got out on a couple of the islands to eat lunch and hear the locals talk about their islands.

Right now Im in the bus terminal waiting to take another bus to Arequipa, a city on the coast. Tomorrow morning from Arequipa we are taking a bus to Colca Canyon, where we are going to go ziplining!!
I didnt mention this trip before because I wasnt sure I was going to go. 2 of the other volunteers and Rosa, our Peruvian friend, basically planned the whole thing and invited me. I really wanted to see Lake Titicaca and I thought I would come along. Also, Urubamba is DEAD on the weekends, and with Ashley gone I figured I would be lonely at home.
Prayer requests:
-Im spending obviously a lot of time with the same people this weekend, and I want them to somehow see Jesus in me and that God would draw them to Himself.
-Im feeling worn out, not just physically but mentally and emotionally. In fact, just writing that is making me tired, and I dont know what else to say about it. I guess just pray that I have stamina for these next 2 weeks...
Thanks for reading and praying. Ciao!
Emily

  2. Emily, I am enjoying reading your blog updates. It seems that Peru has certainly matched whatever expectations you had of it. You seem to be enjoying the country very much. But, of course, I am praying for your witness as well! Thanks for praying for me! I am doing the same for you.

  3. Emily,
Happy July 4th! I am so glad you are taking full advantage of your time in Peru. I can't wait to see all the pictures. I am not sure if we are going to fireworks tonight, we might. I guess you are reading Dad's blog from the Philippines. The Lee's are truly all over the world and I am glad God is with us all. Stay strong my dear Emily! I am praying for you! Mom
