I'm in a bit of disbelief about how it was already 3 years ago that I moved into Biola. This weekend is check-in weekend, and yesterday hundreds of new students started moving in. I really like working check in, just because everyone is SO excited to be here. One boy asked me if there was a certain time he had to come back by at night...awwww! Anyway, I just feel really old and not sure if I want to graduate quite yet (I'm sure I'll be ready in 9 months).
About skydiving (for you, Hil): I wasn't scared until my instructor was getting our equipment ready on the plane. The initial jump and the 45 seconds of free-falling were definitely my favorite part. Because there was so much wind resistance at the beginning, it really didn't feel like I was falling, exactly. Then we pulled the parachute and it clicked that I was really high in the air! The parachuting down took about 5 or 6 minutes and we had views of the ocean and Catalina and everywhere. It was so pretty! The landing was also really fun and smooth. It's amazing how much my instructor could steer the parachute so that we landed on the landing strip.
I ordered photos and a DVD of my jump but I haven't watched the DVD yet because they just mailed it to me. If I can, I'll post it in fb.
I changed my floor name to "Las Hermanas" and it is decorated multi-culturally! It is definitely more "me" and has much more potential to tie in with my events/programs/vision that the name Cassiopeia did. I want us to realize that we are not just neighbors but sisters in Christ. My verses for the floor are going to be Philippians 2:1-2: "If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose."
Haha you are such an adventurous person! Las Hermanas totally is better than Cassopeia. You're going to have such an awesome SENIOR YEAR!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the floor name, love that you're such a big girl (since you're an RA), love Phil 2:1-2, and love YOU.
