wilderness

Tomorrow morning I leave for off-campus RA training until Tuesday and I'm half excited, half really nervous. I'm nervous because last year it was on Catalina Island, so that made up for all the long hiking we had to do. This year it's in a new (secret) location, and the only hints I've gotten about it are that it's in the mountains, there is no shade, and it's really barren. Don't mountainous areas usually have a lot of trees??? Maybe I've been lied to...

Besides that, I am so excited to spend time with my new staff and get to know them better, and just get to know all of the ResLife staff better as a whole. And I am glad for the time I will get to spend in solitude, with God (I'm pretty sure that part won't change) and excited to cook our meals out in the wilderness!
The past 2 days have been pretty relaxed. Patrick took us to Seal Beach yesterday for our "staff orientation," and we went to an Italian deli, walked on the beach, and then got coffee. He plans the best excursions/meetings ever and I am so grateful to have him for a boss.
Today we had a welcome breakfast with all of ResLife and then have had mostly free time the rest of the day. In seems like all we do is eat meals together sometimes (which is great), but we went to an amazing Thai restaurant called Renu Nakorn for dinner.

Pray for me please this weekend if you think about it, that God would reveal Himself to me in new ways and especially that our team would grow together in love and knowledge of God and grow to love each other more.
