For my father, on his day

Dear Dad,
its special to me that i was the first one to call you that! i know that i don´t thank you and mom enough but i am infinitely grateful to have grown up with parents who love jesus like you.  especially though, thank you for always making me feel loved and valuable. as i get older and older, i understand more just how much you have sacrificed for me to have the kind of life that i do, and i know that i wouldn´t believe in myself as much as i do if it weren´t for your encouragement.
some of the things i most appreciate about you are your weekly letters, how you laugh when you think something´s really funny, how much you like working out, your like of travel, and how you have taught me that what i need and want are very different things.
i love you dad and wish i could be home to celebrate with you. mom told me about your present and i know its something you´re gonna love. im praying for your upcoming trip!
