this morning i slept in till 830 which has been later than most days, ate breakfast, watched the baby josefina while rosi went to the market, read, walked around urubamba, and now am in the same internet cafe as yesterday. im about to go home for lunch, read over my notes for my presentation again, and then go to calca! i´m so excited.
some of you have asked if i am going to macchu picchu while i am here...and i am definitely going to try! apparently there are 5-6 day tours that are the coolest but those are booked months in advance. There are shorter tours that can be booked really close to the start date so i´m gonna do one of those with Ashley and some others i believe. urubamba is actually quite close to macchu picchu. have i mentioned how much i love this town...not only is it safe for me to walk around alone but EVERYTHING is within walking distance. the only time i take a moto is at night after my spanish class, so i don´t have to walk home alone in the dark.
well my internet time is almost up so i´m gonna go...also, i have taken pictures but i need to figure out if i can upload them.
as they say here, ciao!
I am glad you like the town you are in. There is something to be said about a lifestyle which does not require transportation in order to get to everything you need. I hope you are able to post some pictures soon. It would be nice to see pics of your family and the town you are in. All is well at home. Hannah and Laura hit a deer last night on the way home from church. They are fine, but the passenger side of the blue car is pretty damaged. It can be fixed though and we have just a $50 deductible. I am praying for you each day! Ciao, Mom
