This weekend has been my first to stay in Urubamba. Yesterday I went to Pisaq, a town about an hour away that has a famous market. The stuff they have there really isnt any better than anywhere else, they just have TONS of vendors. I went with my friend Lauren and we shopped for 2.5 hours! I did some major bargaining because I only wanted one thing for my parents and didnt have very many soles with me. (I think youll like what I got you Mom and Dad!)
This morning I slept in, ate breakfast with my host family, and then watched the world cup upstairs in our house. My host mom cooks for the ProWorld staff a lot and they always talk about the peanut butter oreo milkshake that she makes. Today I finally ordered it and it is AMAZING!
It has been weird not going to church on Sundays here. I didnt think there were any non-Catholic churches (besides Mormon) in Urubamba but the other day I walked past a Baptist church. It was closed though so I couldnt ask when their services were.
Prayer Requests:
-to finish this last week strong! I have lots of work and little things to get done this week before my flight on Saturday and of course want to hang out with a lot of people also!
-my host dad saw me praying the other day before a meal and asked me if I went to church every week when Im at home. He got interrupted a little later but pray that I have more chances to talk about Jesus with him.
Gracias for reading and praying.
Emily
